How To Wear A Hat

From my earliest blogging days, I have had an obsession over hats. It's only because I have a big head and big hair that I haven't been able to wear hats as much as I would like. But this hasn't stopped me from keeping a look out for fitting headpieces whenever I am out shopping.
Hats can be worn all year round all. For the warmer weather opt for hats made of lighter fabrics to shield you from the strong sunrays. When the weather cools down, felt hats and beanies are ideal to keep you warm and stylish. For this post, I'm looking at hats that you can wear on any occasion not just to dressy affairs such as weddings or to festivals.
Hats come in a variety of styles: snapbacks, fedoras, beanies, cowboy hats, wide-brim hats and my new favourite, vintage 1940s style hats. Pair them with your every day outfits such as jeans or official trousers and skirts for a more polished look.

MID-WEEK REFLECTIONS: February Edition

Hello lovelies! It seems like just the other day I was writing the January edition of Mid-Week Reflections. I like to use this post to talk about key things that have taken place in my life and here on the blog, all in an effort to make this blog as personal as possible. On Life The short month of February has practically flown by. A good part of it has been spent carrying out various preparations for the baby's arrival both psychologically and materially. Getting baby things is so much fun and I can't help but marvel at how small we are when we begin our lives. The psychological preparation has been a bit daunting. One might argue that I have had nine months to be mentally prepared but I'm not sure there is any amount of time that would prepare one for such a momentous occasion in one's life. But with the help of God, family and friends, I am certain that the fear of the unknown will be conquered. On The Blog This month, I have tried my best to put u

MONDAY STYLIST: 3 WAYS TO WEAR BLACK TROUSERS

Hi!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I spent mine catching up with my chores and my reading which has been piling. I also managed to do diys which I hope to complete in the course of the week. I didn’t quite manage to do everything I had hoped but at least I accomplished something. Black trousers are a wardrobe must-have in any girls’ wardrobe. They can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. In today’s Monday Stylist, I want to give you three simple ways to dress up your black trousers for 3 different occasions. 1. Working Girl For this look I chose a sheer top with Peter-Pan collar, a cobalt blue tuxedo jacket and black heels and handbag. Depending on your office dress-code, you can pull out some bright colours to cheer you up (and your colleagues as well). Pairing red and blue is a good way to do this. Add stud-earrings for a simple yet chic office look. 2. Night Out When on a night out, you can opt to pull out all the stops. I went for a

Fashion trends I'm loving in 2021

I fell in love with fashion as a child and this blog became my outlet. I love experimenting with clothes, trends, fabrics and over the years, I have settled in my preferred style preferences and these play a big role in my outfit and purchasing choices. This, however, doesn't mean that I am averse to fashion trends. I look to them for ideas on how to update my wardrobe and style my pieces anew. While I don't buy heavily into trendy pieces, I will consider and purchase pieces that I know I love and can wear for a few years, even after the trend has passed. That being said, with 2020/2021 bringing change in how we consume fashion - we spent a year cooped up indoors and hence had no need for fancy clothes and shoes - I must say that there are some trends that I have fallen in love with and can hardly wait to get my hands on. Let's get into it. (Photo: Pinterest/ Style Pantry ) 1. Wide-leg trousers I love slim fit trousers and skinny jeans. I love how versatile they are and I h
