STYLISH FIRST LADIES

Hi all!
Today we Kenyans will get out fourth President. As much as there's pomp and fanfare, I'm more interested in seeing our new First Lady's style.
On Sunday I read an article in the Daily Nation about First Ladies and style by Carol Odero and it got me thinking. I therefore decided to write a post about First Ladies around the globe and their style.

Chinese First Lady, Peng Liyuan
She has been pegged as First Lady to watch. Her style is more out there than her predecessors.

She has been known to prefer outfits made in China.

Cameroon First Lady, Chantal Biya
As little as I know about her, I love that her style is daring. She's not the typical First Lady in understated outfits. And her hair...enough said!

Samantha Cameron
Mrs Cameron wears a lot of blue, but who's complaining? She looks fab. I love the simplicity of her outfits and the subtle prints.

I love Mrs Obama's style as you might tell from the number of posts I've made of her.

HOW TO: WEAR ANKLE BOOTS

Hello lovelies!  Happy new month! Boots are an essential item of any ladies' wardrobe. To add some variety from the typical calf-length or knee-high boots, why not invest in a pair of ankle boots? They are stylish and just as versatile as regular boots. Below I have styled ankle boots in three ways. Ankle Boots 3 Ways 1. Day-time For a chic daytime look, pair your ankle boots with an a skirt, lace top and leather jacket. Switch the leather jacket for a blazer to make this outfit appropriate for the office. Add stockings for extra warmth. I chose stockings with extra detailing on the leg to keep the outfit interesting. 2. Casual Wear For a day spent running errands or when you want to dress down, pair the same ankle boots with distressed boyfriend jeans, a coat and fedora. Use a leather belt to cinch your coat around your waist. Switch the high heel booties for flat ones, if you prefer. 3. Night-Out Nights can get quite chilly and inst...

2ND BLOG ANNIVERSARY

Hi all!! Today I mark two years since I started blogging. First and foremost, I would love to thank all of you for all the support you have given me over the last two years.  Over the last year a lot has happened on the blog and in my life that has left me questioning what value I am adding to my readers' lives. I look at some of my previous posts and wonder how I can do things differently. I want to give you all a different experience when you visit Inches To Style.  Hence, with the beginning of my 3rd year of blogging, I have re-examined my reasons for blogging and have decided to take steps to bring my original ideas to fruition. My one and obly reason for starting Inches To Style was to give women and men a guide to help them dress well. After carefully observing people's outfit choices in the CBD, I felt that something needed to be done. Someone needed to come out and say, "Hey, leggings are not pants!", "You look like you're wearing a...

STYLIST: FULL VOLUME SKIRT

Hi all!! Happy November to you all!!  Maxi skirts and pencil skirts not to mention tutus have been all the rage for a long time now. I still can't get enough of these skirts. However, there are a new brand of skirts that have been making the rounds. I've noticed more than one blogger rocking full volume skirts and it got me kinda partial to this out of the ordinary style.  Image Full volume skirts call to mind those Cinderella dresses that some of us wore as little girls. They give the impression of twirling and make one feel like a princess. Hey, we are all princesses in our own right but it doesn't hurt to have an item of clothing to remind you hahaha!!   Image From Blair of Atlantic-Pacific to Kryz Uy of Thirsty Thought , these bloggers have shown that you don't have to be 6 years old to wear these skirts. You can look as chic and elegant in a full volume skirt as you would in a pencil skirt. All it takes is a little sophisticated styling and ...
