HOW TO: WEAR ANKLE BOOTS

Hello lovelies!
Happy new month! Boots are an essential item of any ladies' wardrobe. To add some variety from the typical calf-length or knee-high boots, why not invest in a pair of ankle boots? They are stylish and just as versatile as regular boots. Below I have styled ankle boots in three ways.

Ankle Boots 3 Ways

1. Day-time

For a chic daytime look, pair your ankle boots with an a skirt, lace top and leather jacket. Switch the leather jacket for a blazer to make this outfit appropriate for the office. Add stockings for extra warmth. I chose stockings with extra detailing on the leg to keep the outfit interesting.

2. Casual Wear

For a day spent running errands or when you want to dress down, pair the same ankle boots with distressed boyfriend jeans, a coat and fedora. Use a leather belt to cinch your coat around your waist. Switch the high heel booties for flat ones, if you prefer.

3. Night-Out
Nights can get quite chilly and instead of wearing your favourite little black dress with knee-high boots, opt for ankle boots instead. Add tights,an armful of bangles and a box clutch to complete your outfit.

Ankle boots are great for both cold and warm weather. They can be worn with dresses, skirts, trousers and even shorts. The styling options are numerous.

2ND BLOG ANNIVERSARY

Hi all!! Today I mark two years since I started blogging. First and foremost, I would love to thank all of you for all the support you have given me over the last two years.  Over the last year a lot has happened on the blog and in my life that has left me questioning what value I am adding to my readers' lives. I look at some of my previous posts and wonder how I can do things differently. I want to give you all a different experience when you visit Inches To Style.  Hence, with the beginning of my 3rd year of blogging, I have re-examined my reasons for blogging and have decided to take steps to bring my original ideas to fruition. My one and obly reason for starting Inches To Style was to give women and men a guide to help them dress well. After carefully observing people's outfit choices in the CBD, I felt that something needed to be done. Someone needed to come out and say, "Hey, leggings are not pants!", "You look like you're wearing a...

WHAT I WORE: Chinos and Lace

Hi all!! I hope June has been going well for you. I don't wear trousers as much as I used to. In fact when i was in college, it was very hard to find me wearing a skirt or dress. But as the years have gone by, my style choices have also changed. I wore these chinos, again, for a job interview. It was for an artsy-related job so I paired it with a lace top and my new wedges. My main purpose of getting box braids was so that I can have a "healthy" looking up-do (read big). And this is what these braids have allowed me to do. Feather earrings and a basket completed my outfit.  Outfit Details: Chinos: DIY, originally from Gikomba Market Lace top: Kawangware Market, Nairobi Wedges: Bus Station, Nairobi Basket: borrowed from Mum Earrings: Ngara Market, Nairobi Necklace: gift I have been working on a new Inches To Style which I had hoped to launch at the beginning of this month, but there are still a few technical things to sor...

What I Wore | Feminine Pieces

Some days ago I watched a YouTube video that inspired me to push myself a bit more. I can't remember what the video was all about but I remember the vlogger saying that you should create more than you consume. That what we consume should serve to inspire us to create more.  Ever since I watched that video, I have been asking myself why I don't create as much as I used to. I feel like I have let my creativity slide and half the time I feel disappointed in myself for slacking. Granted, life has been tough on me over the last couple of years and this has had a domino effect on different aspects of my life.  I would love to get to a point where the happenings in life don't have such an effect on me but that is a work in progress.  I've been trying to push my creativity through my choice of outfits. Most days I gravitate towards my comfortable jeggings and a t-shirt but on other days I actually make an effort to put together two pieces that I would not ordinarily wear to...
