How To: Wear Ankle Boots

My obsession with boots started when I was about 14 years old. I remember making a deal with my mum that should I make a certain mark in my exams she would buy me a pair of boots. And that's when I got my first boots which I absolutely loved and wore until they were falling apart. Over the years, my love affair with boots has grown. While at different stages of my life I preferred different leg-lengths and heel sizes, I can safely say that this is one shoe type that has remained a staple in my closet.
These days I am obsessed with ankle boots. I can't get enough of them. I love them in all colours and styles and were I to give in to the shopaholic in me, I would buy them in all colours and styles. Ankle boots haven't always been the easiest for me to wear. At first I struggled to understand them, to learn how to wear them with anything from skirts to dresses and pants but over the years, and after reading countless fashion blogs, I think I finally understand these shoes.
Below are a few outfit ideas I have loved on how to incorporate ankle boots in your wardrobe.

 1. With a mini dress
I like this outfit for warm days. Ankle boots paired with a short free dress and maybe a light jacket. This is a great outfit for weekends spent doing errands or hanging with the girls.

2. With a maxi dress
Whether your maxi dress has a side slit or not, a pair of ankle boots will be a good change from the usual flats or heels. When worn with maxis, dress or skirt, ankle boots won't bulge from underneath.

3. With tights
This has got to be my go-to cold weather outfit. See I like shorter hemlines and love pairing them with tights when the temperatures drop. This scallopped hem is absolutely gorgeous, no?

4. With cropped pants
I have to say this is one pairing that I have never thought of. I usually like my pants cropped (or folded) when it's warmer but wearing them with ankle boots is sure to be a good experiment.

5. With skinny jeans
If you've been following this blog since it's inception, you will know that this is one of those outfits that I fall back on over and over again. And I learned a nice tutorial on how to wear your jeans or skinny trousers with ankle boots. Check it out:

OUTFIT: Palazzo Pants and Plaid

Hi!!! I hope your week is coming along great. Mine is not too bad. My left upper and lower jaws have been giving me problems the whole week and my dentist (who also happens to be my dad) says he can't do anything until the swelling and the pain subsides. I could scream!!! This is my second pair of wide-leg trousers or palazzo pants thanks to Mik of Stylish Obsessions (I didn't know they were called that!!). I love these ones just as much as these other ones. I particularly like these in the warmer weather because they are much cooler than wearing denim. This is part of my transitioning for the colder months. I paired these brown wide-leg trousers with a black t-shirt and sweater top. I added a waist-coat last, worn here, to add some interest to my outfit. I had a CAT on this day so I didn’t have peace of mind to think up an elaborate outfit. I accessorized with white and brown bracelets and silver loop earrings. I think I was feeling minimalist on this day. I wore ...

DRESSED IN CHOCOLATE BROWN AND PINK

Hi all!!! I hope your week is coming along great. I'm starting to have a back-log of posts and I'm beginning to wonder how to catch up. I wore this outfit some weeks ago. I found it in my archives and since it's Breast Cancer Awareness month, I thought it would be appropriate.  I'm a huge fan of shirts!!! I could wear them every day but I'm going through a dress and skirts phase at the moment. I got these pants a few years back and I only started wearing them this year. They are my most formal pants and I like to save them for days when I want to dress for the corporate world.   Outfit Details: Trousers: gift Shirt: Sarojini Market, New Delhi, India Wedge sandals: Trade Fair, New Delhi, India Quilted bag: Sarojini Market, New Delhi India Belt: from my sister Bracelets: from my sister Earrings: gift Alice band: from my sister Necklace: gift This shirt has such a good fit, I'll be shuttered when it gets too old to wear. MY WEEK IN SKIRTS: Add Pops of Colour to LBD

Afternoon all!! I had a very traumatic Monday. I was in the vicinity of an attack and I've been feeling the aftershocks today. I left the house to go to class and when I was halfway there I started feeling so bad that I decided to turn back and head home. I hope to feel better tomorrow. This is my third post on My Week in Skirts challenge. You can find the previous posts here and here . I ran out of skirts before the week was over so I resorted to dresses. I wore this outfit last Thursday to class. It's a Little Black Dress (LBD) which I wore for the first time since I bought it.  As I continue with my obsession with black and pops of bright colours, I wore this dress with my burnt orange sweater, a colourful scarf and boots. I carried this yellow bag, more so because I needed a bag big enough to carry my laptop and and also to pick up my some colour from the scarf. I had an interesting experience when I wore this dress. I was stopped by the Fashio...
