Trends To Try: The Turtleneck

It looks like 90s fashion is back with a bang. From chokers and bodysuits to dungarees and now turtlenecks. The list of trends to try is long and it excites me. These trends bring back such memories of my childhood and remind me of clothes that I loved but unfortunately outgrew.
Today, let's talk about he turtleneck.

 Style Tips
In order to look slimmer while wearing you turtleneck:
  • Wear a good, supportive bra
  • Avoid long, statement earrings
  • Opt for hairstyles where your hair is away from your face
  • Elongate your torso by tucking in your turtleneck
  • To modernize your turtleneck, pair it with a statement necklace (or layered necklaces), sleeveless coats and cropped trousers.
  • Opt to have your shirt tails and cuffs sticking out under your turtleneck sweater

WHAT I WORE: Chinos and Lace

Hi all!! I hope June has been going well for you. I don't wear trousers as much as I used to. In fact when i was in college, it was very hard to find me wearing a skirt or dress. But as the years have gone by, my style choices have also changed. I wore these chinos, again, for a job interview. It was for an artsy-related job so I paired it with a lace top and my new wedges. My main purpose of getting box braids was so that I can have a "healthy" looking up-do (read big). And this is what these braids have allowed me to do. This week's Celebrity Style post features a new style icon and some old favourites. I like the controversy, well, I enjoy how the Kardashians keep people guessing. While I admire the three older sisters, and would almost kill for a taste of their Kardashian Kollection, I have developed a liking the two younger sisters more and more. I especially like Kylie Jenner. I was gushing over her magazine shoot for Cosmopolitan the other day and couldn't help but admire her in this black crotchet midi dress. Then there's no hiding how much I love Lupita. Did you know she is the cover girl for Lucky Magazine for March this year? As much as I love to see her in various shades of lipstick, it's nice to see her au naturelle on this cover.
