Trends To Try: The Embroidery Trend

If you've been following my blog for a while, you will know that I shy away from loud prints, particularly floral prints. I love basics and solid colours because they are easy to mix and match. Be that as it may, I have fallen in love with the embroidery trend. I find it so feminine and since most of my wardrobe consists of basics, a few embroidered pieces are just what I need to make a statement. Today I have shared some of my favourite ways to wear this boho trend.

Style Challenge Day 18 - Dress down your favourite little black dress

The little black dress has to be my favourite fashion item of all time. I believe you can't have too many black dresses. For today's challenge I picked this black dress which has leather detailing on the shoulders. I last wore it on the blog here . I paired it with Toms, a trend that I can't get enough of. I absolutely love the contrast of a smart dress paired with sneakers. In cooler weather I would have added a denim jacket but seeing as the sun is closer to the ground these days, I opted to go without the jacket. I felt I needed some colour hence the necklace. I have started becoming a huge fan of smaller earrings. I wear these at least three times a week. What is your take on the whole sneakers with anything and everything trend? Have you tried it out? Miss Elly Turns Six

Happy 2020! I know I'm so late but there's no better way to get back into blogging than by marking my baby's birthday. Baby girl is six today! I've spent the day wondering how to adequately express my surprise at how fast time has flown and the joy this journey has afforded me. Since she came into my life, I've wondered what mark I will make in her life, what lessons I will teach her, and though morbid, what memories I will leave her when I'm gone. I do hope that when she's old enough to read these posts, she will have a glimpse into her mother's passions and get to know me a little better. Now all I need to do is be more consistent here. FEELS LIKE AUTUMN

Hi all!!! I hope you’re having a better week than I am. I know it’s only Tuesday but I’m feeling so low I just want this week to end. I’m currently reading a book that is forcing me to look at my life and make some changes for the better. I have been struggling with some things the reality of which I have been running away from. But I’ve come to realize that I will have to face this reality sooner or later. I’ve decided to do it now instead of carrying a lot of unnecessary baggage with me for the rest of my youth.
