Trends To Try: Bare Shoulders

Bare shoulders have been at the forefront of current trend lists ever since designers showcased them during New York Fashion Week last year. I fell in love with this trend some time last year so you can imagine my excitement when it was on every trend report list. When it comes to showing off skin, I like to show off just a little. If it's arms or torso (chest or mid-section), I keep my legs covered and if I'm showing off my legs, I like to keep my arms and torso covered. And bare shoulders just add to the list of ways you can show off some skin without exposing too much.

How to wear the bare shoulders trend

Cut-outs

Shirts, dresses, tops, coats, sweaters and even jumpsuits with shoulder cut-outs are the latest version of this trend.

Off-shoulder tops
If you are looking to be more daring, you can opt for off-shoulder tops. These can be found in fitting silhouettes or loose-fitting tops and dresses that are more representative of the boho trend.

DIY Shirt
Should you prefer to get creative and use the clothes already in you closet, you can easily make your own off-shoulder top with a button-down shirt by leaving the top buttons unfastened.

How To: Wear Ankle Boots

My obsession with boots started when I was about 14 years old. I remember making a deal with my mum that should I make a certain mark in my exams she would buy me a pair of boots. And that's when I got my first boots which I absolutely loved and wore until they were falling apart. Over the years, my love affair with boots has grown. While at different stages of my life I preferred different leg-lengths and heel sizes, I can safely say that this is one shoe type that has remained a staple in my closet. These days I am obsessed with ankle boots. I can't get enough of them. I love them in all colours and styles and were I to give in to the shopaholic in me, I would buy them in all colours and styles. Ankle boots haven't always been the easiest for me to wear. At first I struggled to understand them, to learn how to wear them with anything from skirts to dresses and pants but over the years, and after reading countless fashion blogs, I think I finally unde...

DRESSED IN CHOCOLATE BROWN AND PINK

Hi all!!! I hope your week is coming along great. I'm starting to have a back-log of posts and I'm beginning to wonder how to catch up. I wore this outfit some weeks ago. I found it in my archives and since it's Breast Cancer Awareness month, I thought it would be appropriate.  I'm a huge fan of shirts!!! I could wear them every day but I'm going through a dress and skirts phase at the moment. I got these pants a few years back and I only started wearing them this year. They are my most formal pants and I like to save them for days when I want to dress for the corporate world.   Outfit Details: Trousers: gift Shirt: Sarojini Market, New Delhi, India Wedge sandals: Trade Fair, New Delhi, India Quilted bag: Sarojini Market, New Delhi India Belt: from my sister Bracelets: from my sister Earrings: gift Alice band: from my sister Necklace: gift This shirt has such a good fit, I'll be shuttered when it gets too old to wear. MID-WEEK REFLECTIONS

Hi all!! I decided to start monthly feature called Mid-Week Reflections one Wednesday a month, to give you a brief summary of what has been going on in my life. I thought it would be a good way for you, my lovely readers to get to know me on a personal level besides my love for fashion and personal style. On Blogging As you might have noticed, I have not been blogging very frequently.  2013 has started on a different note for me, from what I had hoped. The holiday seemed to end too fast and before I knew it I was back in the office, with no editorial calender and very little inspiration for blogging. I've tried all the things that I could think of to get my mojo back, but no amount of shopping, Pinterest or blog reading can get me back. I don't know what else to do. On Life My New Profile Picture After going through very many ups and downs last year in my relationship, I finally decided to let go and take the giant leap into the unknown. I was terrified a...
