Wardrobe Basics: Jeans

Jeans have got to be the best invention ever. I wear them so much, and consequently end up buying one too many pairs, that I have started making a conscience effort not to buy any denim. I consider them to be one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe, I mean, I can wear them while running errands, to work, while hanging out with friends and for a night out, all of this with the jeans styled differently, of course.
The styles of jeans available at the moment are innumerable. You can opt for flared jeans (which are hot right now), classics like skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, dungarees or overalls, high waist, ankle crop, distressed or ripped. The list goes on.
When it comes to styling, jeans can be worn with a tshirt or vest for a casual outfit. Pair your high waist jeans with a crop top for a variant of the casual outfit. For a more smart-casual outfit, a white shirt and blazer will instantly smarten up your jeans. Accessories such as statement necklaces, structured bags and heels or smart flats are perfect if you want to look more polished.

Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read. Below are five books that I am keen to read this year. 1. Memoirs of a Geisha 2. Becoming by Michelle Obama 3. An Edited Life by Anna Newton 4. Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig 5. Heart and hustle by Patricia Bright Which books do you think I should add to my reading list? Thank you for stopping by....

HOLLYWOOD INSPIRATION: Neon Dress

I'm a huge fan of bold colours, so you can guess how excited I am about the neon trend. When I saw Jennifer Lopez in this neon yellow dress and pink heels I was so happy to realize that this is a very easy outfit to redo.  Image via Yahoo Here's how I would style this dress.  I chose this other dress because I love the cut and I thought I would style it as well. ABOUT

Hi, I'm Audrey. Welcome to Inches To Style☺ How it started I fell in love with fashion at an early age. In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. I’d been making clothes for my dolls for years so I knew that was a career path I would love to pursue.  I didn’t study fashion nor did I become a fashion designer but my love for clothes and putting outfits together stuck with me.  On September 12, 2011 I wrote my first blog post, after I discovered the world of fashion blogs and got hooked. I thought to myself, “I can do this! I like writing and I like fashion, so why not?” And so Inches To Style was born. What to expect from the blog At first, I wanted this blog to be a source of inspiration for anyone looking to up their style game. As time progressed and my personal style and lifestyle has evolved, I found the name of my blog quite fitting as I’m moving inches (closer) ...
