Blogging Challenge Day 11 | My Biggest Fear

It's been a while since I had to think about my fears. I recently went to driving school and on my third day my instructor told me to stop being afraid and I remember laughing and telling him that there are very few things that I'm afraid of in this life and driving on Nairobi roads isn't one of them. But in all honesty, there's maybe one or two things that I am afraid of and the biggest of my fears is regret.

I'm the kind of person who would love to look back on my life and be satisfied with every aspect of it, the good, the bad and the ugly. For the most part, I look at the path my life has taken with a positive outlook. I cherish the good things that have happened and I have chosen to learn from all the challenging events that I have been through.
I don't regret any of my past decisions. There have been certain moments that upon reflection I wished that I had gone a different route or that life had dealt me different cards but then I look at the events that unfolded because of that seemingly unfortunate event and I remember that everything happens for a reason.
Instead of having regrets, I make a mental effort to try my best in all situations. I take life one day at a time and I ask God to help me accept anything that He sends my way as the day progresses. This doesn't mean that I don't have days when I feel low. But on those days, I work extra hard to discover what it is that is making me feel low and then I deal with it. (I will put up a different post on how I do this at a later date).

What is your biggest fear? How do you handle it?

Thank you for stopping by.

ABOUT

Hi, I'm Audrey. Welcome to Inches To Style☺ How it started I fell in love with fashion at an early age. In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. I’d been making clothes for my dolls for years so I knew that was a career path I would love to pursue.  I didn’t study fashion nor did I become a fashion designer but my love for clothes and putting outfits together stuck with me.  On September 12, 2011 I wrote my first blog post, after I discovered the world of fashion blogs and got hooked. I thought to myself, “I can do this! I like writing and I like fashion, so why not?” And so Inches To Style was born. What to expect from the blog At first, I wanted this blog to be a source of inspiration for anyone looking to up their style game. As time progressed and my personal style and lifestyle has evolved, I found the name of my blog quite fitting as I’m moving inches (closer) ...

Father's Day Meal Idea

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. With Father's Day coming up this weekend, I thought it would be a fun idea to share an idea of a meal that you can make for Father's Day. Butter Chicken This is one of my favourite Indian recipes. I like it because it doesn't need too many spices, you can do without the chilli and the chicken and gravy just melt in your mouth.  Ingredients:  Chicken (you can opt for boneless chicken) 2 tablespoons of yoghurt Red chilli powder to taste (optional) Crushed ginger and garlic Garam masala Tumeric powder Onions Tomatoes Butter/Cooking Oil Cashew nuts Salt Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken in a bowl, add yoghurt, red chilli powder, crushed ginger and garlic, garam masala and salt. Make the tomato gravy: In a pan, heat the oil. Saute onions until translucent. Add tomatoes and sprinkle some salt. Cook until they turn soft and mushy. Add red chilli powder, garam masala and cashew nuts. Fry until...

OUTFIT: Warmth In A Trench and Ankle Boots

This was one of those days when you dress up and realize your outfit is too dull. I had worn black trousers, a chocolate brown turtle neck and a black trench coat then I realized that the dull colours were too much. So I added this coat, sort of like peplum, and added this red scarf for added colour. I layered the black trousers with a pair of thick stockings because their fabric is too thin for the cold. I didn’t feel much like accessorizing so I just put on simple earrings and a scarf. I wore black ankle boots. The boots have a block heel which up until yesterday I had been wearing only to and from church. But yesterday was a changing point in my life. These boots have joined my category of comfortable heels to wear while walking around in town. They were a gift from my mum a number of years ago and to this day they are still in good condition.     Now I’m curious, what are your go to outfits when it’s cold? What colours do you gravitate towar...
