Blogging Challenge Day 3 | My Hopes For The Future

When thinking about my future, I often think of a day when I will have set up a few businesses, invested in different markets, bought a house or two and basically settled down enough not to worry too much about my income. I'm a hardworking person. I don't believe in sitting and waiting for someone to provide for me. I take pride in accomplishing my goals no matter how much effort I had to put into it. Albeit there are times when I struggle to remain positive, to keep to the grind even when results are hard to come by but then I look at my daughter and I remember why I'm doing it all. It's for her, for her future as well as mine.
I want to be a great mum and not a perfect mum. I want to grow with Elly, to help her find her way in this world, to discover who she is and what she is passionate about.

For my immediate future, I just want to get to a more positive place. In the last year or so I have been through quite a lot and I will admit that it drained me of my energy. I'm a fighter, nonetheless. I am determined not to let my past experiences steal my joy or make me a negative person. I know I can overcome any challenges that come my way and with God on my side, I am sure to come out victorious and even more blessed.
All in all, I want life to be filled with love, laughter and personal growth.

Thank you for stopping by.

ABOUT

Hi, I'm Audrey. Welcome to Inches To Style☺ How it started I fell in love with fashion at an early age. In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. I’d been making clothes for my dolls for years so I knew that was a career path I would love to pursue.  I didn’t study fashion nor did I become a fashion designer but my love for clothes and putting outfits together stuck with me.  On September 12, 2011 I wrote my first blog post, after I discovered the world of fashion blogs and got hooked. I thought to myself, “I can do this! I like writing and I like fashion, so why not?” And so Inches To Style was born. What to expect from the blog At first, I wanted this blog to be a source of inspiration for anyone looking to up their style game. As time progressed and my personal style and lifestyle has evolved, I found the name of my blog quite fitting as I’m moving inches (closer) ...

Father's Day Meal Idea

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. With Father's Day coming up this weekend, I thought it would be a fun idea to share an idea of a meal that you can make for Father's Day. Butter Chicken This is one of my favourite Indian recipes. I like it because it doesn't need too many spices, you can do without the chilli and the chicken and gravy just melt in your mouth.  Ingredients:  Chicken (you can opt for boneless chicken) 2 tablespoons of yoghurt Red chilli powder to taste (optional) Crushed ginger and garlic Garam masala Tumeric powder Onions Tomatoes Butter/Cooking Oil Cashew nuts Salt Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken in a bowl, add yoghurt, red chilli powder, crushed ginger and garlic, garam masala and salt. Make the tomato gravy: In a pan, heat the oil. Saute onions until translucent. Add tomatoes and sprinkle some salt. Cook until they turn soft and mushy. Add red chilli powder, garam masala and cashew nuts. Fry until...

OUTFIT: Warmth In A Trench and Ankle Boots

This was one of those days when you dress up and realize your outfit is too dull. I had worn black trousers, a chocolate brown turtle neck and a black trench coat then I realized that the dull colours were too much. So I added this coat, sort of like peplum, and added this red scarf for added colour. I layered the black trousers with a pair of thick stockings because their fabric is too thin for the cold. I didn’t feel much like accessorizing so I just put on simple earrings and a scarf. I wore black ankle boots. The boots have a block heel which up until yesterday I had been wearing only to and from church. But yesterday was a changing point in my life. These boots have joined my category of comfortable heels to wear while walking around in town. They were a gift from my mum a number of years ago and to this day they are still in good condition.     Now I’m curious, what are your go to outfits when it’s cold? What colours do you gravitate towar...
