Father's Day Meal Idea

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. With Father's Day coming up this weekend, I thought it would be a fun idea to share an idea of a meal that you can make for Father's Day.

Butter Chicken
This is one of my favourite Indian recipes. I like it because it doesn't need too many spices, you can do without the chilli and the chicken and gravy just melt in your mouth.

Ingredients:
Chicken (you can opt for boneless chicken)
2 tablespoons of yoghurt
Red chilli powder to taste (optional)
Crushed ginger and garlic
Garam masala
Tumeric powder
Onions
Tomatoes
Butter/Cooking Oil
Cashew nuts
Salt
  1. Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken in a bowl, add yoghurt, red chilli powder, crushed ginger and garlic, garam masala and salt.
  2. Make the tomato gravy: In a pan, heat the oil. Saute onions until translucent. Add tomatoes and sprinkle some salt. Cook until they turn soft and mushy. Add red chilli powder, garam masala and cashew nuts. Fry until the raw smell of the masala goes away. Cool this and blend with three-quarter cup of water. Blend to a smooth puree.
  3. Put everything together: Heat some butter or oil in a pan. Add crushed ginger and garlic and fry until the raw smell goes off. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Add the marinated chicken. On a medium flame, fry until the chicken turns pale and white in colour. Make sure the yoghurt masala dries up. Add the puree. You can also add more red chilli powder and garam masala. Add water but be sure you end up with a thick gravy. Simmer until it is cooked.
Serve with rice or chapati.

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful fathers.

ABOUT

Hi, I'm Audrey. Welcome to Inches To Style☺ How it started I fell in love with fashion at an early age. In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. I’d been making clothes for my dolls for years so I knew that was a career path I would love to pursue.  I didn’t study fashion nor did I become a fashion designer but my love for clothes and putting outfits together stuck with me.  On September 12, 2011 I wrote my first blog post, after I discovered the world of fashion blogs and got hooked. I thought to myself, “I can do this! I like writing and I like fashion, so why not?” And so Inches To Style was born. What to expect from the blog At first, I wanted this blog to be a source of inspiration for anyone looking to up their style game. As time progressed and my personal style and lifestyle has evolved, I found the name of my blog quite fitting as I’m moving inches (closer) ...

OUTFIT: Warmth In A Trench and Ankle Boots

This was one of those days when you dress up and realize your outfit is too dull. I had worn black trousers, a chocolate brown turtle neck and a black trench coat then I realized that the dull colours were too much. So I added this coat, sort of like peplum, and added this red scarf for added colour. I layered the black trousers with a pair of thick stockings because their fabric is too thin for the cold. I didn’t feel much like accessorizing so I just put on simple earrings and a scarf. I wore black ankle boots. The boots have a block heel which up until yesterday I had been wearing only to and from church. But yesterday was a changing point in my life. These boots have joined my category of comfortable heels to wear while walking around in town. They were a gift from my mum a number of years ago and to this day they are still in good condition.     Now I’m curious, what are your go to outfits when it’s cold? What colours do you gravitate towar...
