ABOUT

Hi, I'm Audrey. Welcome to Inches To Style☺ How it started I fell in love with fashion at an early age. In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. I’d been making clothes for my dolls for years so I knew that was a career path I would love to pursue.  I didn’t study fashion nor did I become a fashion designer but my love for clothes and putting outfits together stuck with me.  On September 12, 2011 I wrote my first blog post, after I discovered the world of fashion blogs and got hooked. I thought to myself, “I can do this! I like writing and I like fashion, so why not?” And so Inches To Style was born. WHAT I WORE: Cropped Sunday

Hi all!! Happy new week! My love for crop tops has reached an ultimate high. So much so that I got one of my old t-shirts and made a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) crop top. I wore it yesterday, paired with my blue maxi skirt. I added a scarf, heels and a clutch to complete the outfit. With the weather being as confused as it is, I have all my clothes on standby. There are days when I choose warmer ones and others, like yesterday when I go for something more summery.  I have had these box braids for three weeks now and I must say, I am still in love with them. And, I’m becoming a pro at holding them in a bun. I now want to look for a new way to style them.  Outfit Details: Maxi Skirt: gift from India Crop top: DIY, gift Sequin and lace Scarf: Gikomba Market, Nairobi KSh. 50 Heels: Moi Avenue (hawkers) KSh.100 Clutch: Ngara Market, Nairobi KSh. 100 Bangles: Sarojini Market, India Loop Earrings: gift Have you tried wearing crop tops yet? ...

Motherhood Chronicles: She Flew The Nest

Elly has started school! Motherhood is a continuous cycle of change. No sooner have you adjusted to a new routine than you have to drop it and start getting used to something new. My baby started school and I can hardly believe that she is old enough to strike it out on her own. Just this morning when we were leaving the house, she told me she could take herself to school because she is a big girl now (😢😢). When did this happen? Just recently she was so tiny and helpless and now she is so independent! Read my maternity series here For the better part of last year baby girl's most frequently asked question was, "Mummy, when can I go to school?" It didn't help that many of her playmates are of school-going age so during the day she would get so bored waiting for them to come home so that they could play. She didn't cry on her first day. I will probably attribute that to the preparation we did beforehand. I made sure to inform her months in advance that ...
