Wardrobe Basics: Plain White T-Shirt

When I think of a plain white t-shirt, I imagine all sorts of ways in which I can wear it. A plain t-shirt can be very versatile depending on how you choose to style it. And you don't have to limit yourself to white either. Stock up on a selection of white, blue, grey, black, colours that you can pair with absolutely anything from your wardrobe.
  • T-shirts come in different styles. There are some with a loose fit and others that fit a bit more.
  • Choose from crew neck t-shirts or those with a v-neck
Styling Tips:
  • A statement necklace is the simplest, easiest way to dress up a  t-shirt.
  • Tuck in your t-shirt when pairing it with a skirt to smarten up the look.
  • When wearing it with jeans, tuck in the front and leave the back hanging out for a relaxed look.
  • Tie a knot on an oversize t-shirt and pair it with high-waisted trousers or skirt.
  • To look even more polished, wear a blazer over your t-shirt and jeans and top it all off with some heels or smart flats.

Miss Elly Turns Six

Happy 2020! I know I'm so late but there's no better way to get back into blogging than by marking my baby's birthday. Baby girl is six today! I've spent the day wondering how to adequately express my surprise at how fast time has flown and the joy this journey has afforded me. Since she came into my life, I've wondered what mark I will make in her life, what lessons I will teach her, and though morbid, what memories I will leave her when I'm gone. I do hope that when she's old enough to read these posts, she will have a glimpse into her mother's passions and get to know me a little better. Now all I need to do is be more consistent here. This is for you Elly. Happy birthday my love. Follow me on:  Facebook ,  Instagram  and Sign up to  Email Notifications here .

AUDREY'S STYLE: Combatted Denim

Hello lovelies!  The weather in Nairobi has been quite cold of late. It's even more evident in the house which tends to be colder than outside. Last week I had to take my sister shopping so I opted for distressed jeans, previously worn here , (I told you they are a new favorite!), a t-shirt and striped sweater. I was feeling quite cold so I added a scarf and combat boots. Outfit Details: Jeans: from my sister Sweater: Gikomba Boots: Ngara Scarf: Gikomba Bag: India Have you tried combat or army boots? How else would you style them? Do share in the comments below, on Facebook , Instagram or Twitter . Happy Thursday and thank you for stopping by! xo Audrey

Maxi Dress + Knotted Denim Shirt

I think it's pretty obvious that I love crop tops. You would think that post-baby I wouldn't want to wear anything that showed off my mid-section because of stretch marks and all but I can't help myself. I have a number of crop tops and I am looking to get a few more. This denim shirt acts as a good cover up over bustier, halter or spaghetti strap dresses and tops. There are times I wear it as a coat but this time I opted to knot it and make a crop top which I wore over this dress. Sandals and my purple feather earrings completed my outfit. Style Tip: If you want to wear a crop top and you don't have a flat, stretch mark-free tummy, pair it with a high-waisted skirt or trousers to show off just a sliver of skin. You can also wear it over a dress like this. Just because your tummy isn't perfect does not mean you shouldn't enjoy certain trends!
