i2s NEWS: A LITTLE BUNDLE OF JOY

Hi all!!
No words can describe how happy I am at the moment. A couple of months ago, I discovered that I was going to get the best gift any woman can wish for. I am are expecting a little bundle of joy early next year. I have not shared this news with many people and have been taking fewer and fewer outfit photos for this very reason. So now I can resume documenting this joyous time in our lives.
One of the biggest perks about this new phase of my life is that every week my body is different. I’ve put on weight, moved up a dress size and can’t wear some of my favorite clothes and shoes. My heels have become unwearable because of the backache that comes after a few hours in them. I now prefer flats and when I get bored of those, I wear wedges.
As for my clothes, after I realized that wearing my old jeans was proving to be too uncomfortable, I packed them away and started wearing leggings. I now have three pairs of jeans whose waistline is still a bit comfortable around my ever growing belly but I only wear them for short periods of time at a go. I’ve put away all my skirts. Elastic waistbands are my new best friends.
Tunics, maxi dresses and shirt dresses all with empire waists are also making an appearance in my wardrobe. I remember once swearing that when I do get pregnant, I will not let my style suffer. Little did I know that this was easier said than done. I shall be sharing my outfit choices and maternity styling tips with you up until the baby is born. I will also share all the preparations that I am making to welcome this new love of my life into the world.
I hope these posts will be beneficial to all those mothers who are expecting and for any lady who plans to get a baby in the future.

 Happy Wednesday!!

ABOUT

Hi, I'm Audrey. Welcome to Inches To Style☺ How it started I fell in love with fashion at an early age. In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. I’d been making clothes for my dolls for years so I knew that was a career path I would love to pursue.  I didn’t study fashion nor did I become a fashion designer but my love for clothes and putting outfits together stuck with me.  On September 12, 2011 I wrote my first blog post, after I discovered the world of fashion blogs and got hooked. I thought to myself, “I can do this! I like writing and I like fashion, so why not?” And so Inches To Style was born. What to expect from the blog At first, I wanted this blog to be a source of inspiration for anyone looking to up their style game. As time progressed and my personal style and lifestyle has evolved, I found the name of my blog quite fitting as I’m moving inches (closer) ...

WHAT I WORE: Cropped Sunday

Hi all!! Happy new week! My love for crop tops has reached an ultimate high. So much so that I got one of my old t-shirts and made a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) crop top. I wore it yesterday, paired with my blue maxi skirt. I added a scarf, heels and a clutch to complete the outfit. With the weather being as confused as it is, I have all my clothes on standby. There are days when I choose warmer ones and others, like yesterday when I go for something more summery.  I have had these box braids for three weeks now and I must say, I am still in love with them. And, I’m becoming a pro at holding them in a bun. I now want to look for a new way to style them.  Outfit Details: Maxi Skirt: gift from India Crop top: DIY, gift Sequin and lace Scarf: Gikomba Market, Nairobi KSh. 50 Heels: Moi Avenue (hawkers) KSh.100 Clutch: Ngara Market, Nairobi KSh. 100 Bangles: Sarojini Market, India Loop Earrings: gift Have you tried wearing crop tops yet? ...
