ACCESSORIZE: Headbands

****I have already mentioned my love for accessories on this blog. In this post I will be taking one item of accessory and show-casing the different types available in the market. I will show you how it has been styled by other bloggers or celebrities. I will also style this item. This is in order to give you a few ideas on how you can wear a particular accessory. Enjoy!

I've been on the look out for something interesting to do with my hair for a while now. I have had braids on my head for the last maybe 8 months (different ones, of course)! And I'm tired, my hair is tired and I'm dying for a change. As I move around looking for different types of accessories, hair accessories are usually big on my list. At the moment it's headbands. Yes, Blair Waldorf has finally caught up with me. Some might argue that I'm past that age but I think they channel the inner girl in me. Even at the recent Golden Globes, some celebs were spotted wearing headbands.

Intro

I love clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery and all things fashion. When I walk on the streets, go to offices, parties or even when I’m meeting people, I can’t help but notice what those around me are wearing. I like to take in their choice of outfit, the shoes they chose to wear and the bag they chose to carry. I look at the make up the lady has applied, is it too much or just enough? What hair style do they have? Is the outfit appropriate for the particular time of day and/or event? When I read newspapers or magazines I quickly flip to the style pages, something I’m sure many, many girls do. As I walk through the streets of Nairobi after a somewhat long absence, I can’t help but notice how Kenyan ladies as well as the guys have embraced the latest fashion trends. Botique i2s New Collection

Hello everyone! I am so excited to finally be able to share this project with you. Over the last couple of months, I have been hard at work on a new phase of the blog and my online shop Botique i2s . I present to you my first collection created by yours truly. New Mantra After constantly being bombarded by very nice designs that make my mouth water, I finally took the bold step of making said clothes available. Botique i2s seeks to give new life to vintage and previously owned clothes by updating them into the latest trends in a process referred to as upcycling. I believe this is Kenya's first store whose clothes are made entirely out of upcycled clothes (correct me if I am wrong). Recycling is very important particularly in this day and age when our streets are filling up with trash and the garbage dumps are reaching their tipping point.
